Have you always wanted to work with make up?  Perhaps you see yourself working as a make up artist in Film/TV, or working on fashion photoshoots, or working for cosmetic companies such as MAC or self employed doing all of this!  This Full Time Makeup Artistry Course is suitable for complete beginners and takes less than 6 months to complete. Attendance is only 3 days per week.  We are delighted to have guest educators joining us on this years course so far we are excited to welcome Sinead The Beautiful Truth, Fiona Hogan, Robyn TheMakeUpGal, Tara Makeup &Dylan Jordan.  Full Time Make Up Artistry students of Beauty Academywill be able to avail of these training sessions for FREE.




This course offers two qualifications ITEC Beauty Specialist Certificate and the ITEC Diploma in Fashion, Theatre & Media Make Up.

Course Description

This make up artistry course is designed for complete beginners who want a career as a Make Up Artist. This is an intensive makeup artistry course which qualifies you in all aspects of the Make Up Artistry.

As a Makeup Artist you are involved in some of the most exciting times in peoples lives. You may get the opportunity to work with celebrities such as TV personalities, Actors, Musicians and Politicians. Brides and Other People on their special day will look and feel great because of your expertise.

Working as a self-employed freelance makeup artist gives you the opportunity to work the hours that suit your lifestyle and earn good money in the time you do work. Get your career started in the right direction with an ITEC Make Up Artistry Qualification.

Course Content

Skin & Eye Treatments - most make up artistry courses dont include this in their training, but part of this qualification is mastering the skill of shaping brows, tinting both brows and lashes and also learning about skin and how to perfect it with the art of facials and home care. Therefore we have included this in our course content.

Make Up Artistry

Stage 1: This is the crucial foundations of make up.  Creating a perfect make up base.  The colour wheel and how to colour correct for a flawless finish.  Creating Day, Night, Bridal, Special Occasion and Mature Make up Looks.

Stage 2:  Fashion & Photography Make Up - master the art of the cut crease eyeshadow, how to perfect the brows, winged eyeliner, era looks 1920s, 30s, 40s, 50s, 60s, 70s, 80s & 90s, Glamour Looks, High Fashion, Catwalk and Black & White Photography Looks.  This part of the course is ideal to develop your skills for high fashion shoots, and to be able to create the fashionable glamour looks that are increasingly popular at the minute.

Stage 3: Theatrical & Stage Make Up - this module will train you on Pantomime Characters, Ageing, Children's Make Up, Male Make Up, Bollywood, Body Make Up, Edwardian, Victorian, Animals & more.  This is ideal if you want to work in Theatre and develops your make up skills

Stage 4: SFX - Special Effects - learn how to create bullet wounds, scars, bruises, stab wounds, sunburn, how to create facial hair, bald caps and work with prosthetics. Learn how to create a temporary tatoos and how to cover and camouflage existing tatoos and birth marks. This is an exciting part of the course which develops you for tv/film but many make up artists use this knowledge when recreating horror looks for halloween. This knowledge is also used by make up artists who need to cover birth marks/tatoos for either brides or photoshoots.

Professional Conduct & Business Awareness - Learn how to maintain and enhance your makeup kits, including your brushes. How to keep up with makeup trends. How to get work experience and who to contact. How to create an impressive portfolio. How to make a great impression at an interview. How to start your own freelance business for as little money as possible, and how to creatively market yourself. Also learn how to price your services, either by the hour or per job. How to consult with clients and ensure client satisfaction and loyalty.

Educators - on this course your training is delivered by inhouse experienced and highly qualified tutors plus we invite in guest educators who have expertise in specific areas such as Bridal Make Up, Glamour Make Up, Drag,Blogging, Editorial Make Up, Body Make Up and Special Effects. Course Dates & Duration

The course runs for 3 days a week, Tuesday to Thursday - which will run 9am-4pm. It will commence October 10th and run until April 2018.

Course Costs

This Makeup Artistry Course Costs €3550 + Exam Fees. However, if this course is paid in full by course start date you will receive an incredible discount of €350 which makes the Course Fee ONLY €3200 + Exam Fees. There is also a payment plan option, whereby students may pay by instalments. This is available on the full course fee only. Compulsory Kits: students need to purchase a Basic Beauty Kit and a Special Effects Kit. These kits may be purchased directly from the wholesalers at a discount wholesale price. Details of these kits may be obtained on request. Students will also need to consider additional costs such as course textbooks and exam fees. Make Up Studio Tshirts are given to students for FREE.
